Baby Steps

Davis is slowly learning how to walk.  He's cruising along everything and is really into standing and pushing his toys around the house.  We have stuff everywhere!  Ha!   He takes a few steps and then decides that crawling is faster.  It's too cute and funny.  He loves when we cheer for him.  Tonight he took about 6 steps in the kitchen and then fell.  He was excited and so was I!  I know it won't be long and then I'll really be playing chase trying to keep up with him.  He's a fast little thing!  It's just so amazing to watch all of things that he does on a daily basis.  It's truly a miracle.

One Year Check Up

We went to see Dr. Richard on Tuesday.  Davis had a good report and was a good patient.  Poor baby got 3 shots and blood drawn.  Yikes.  He was fine for the shots, it was the blood thing that made him cry.  It broke my heart.  Davis perked up when it was done and really liked the orange smiley face rattle the nurse gave him.  Davis is a great eater and pretty much eats anything we give him.  Now it's time to finish with the bottles and formula and move on to milk in a sippy cup.  Dr. Richard also suggested getting rid of the pacifier too.  We'll try but so far that's not working.  Ha!

Davis' One Year Stats:
Weight ~ 21.1 lbs.
Height ~  29.5 inches
He's in the average range for his age.

Davis and Finn Frist Birthday Party

Davis and Finn had their big first birthday party on Saturday.  It was so much fun.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and the boys had fun too.  They had lots of people to celebrate with them.  Davis and Finn both got some really neat gifts and had fun opening them.  It looked like Christmas with all of the presents.  The kids loved playing in the fun jump.  Davis and Finn tried it too but it was not really their thing.  Maybe next year.  The cake eating was hilarious.  Davis was not into it at all but Finn couldn't get enough.  Thanks to all who helped make this day so special.

We Love You, Mallory

Congrats to Mallory!  She had her 8th grade graduation ceremony last night.  We were sad that we were not in town to attend but are so proud of Mallory and all of her accomplishments.  She got recognized for her many activities and won sevearl awards!  Hard to believe you will be in highschool at ESA in the fall. Way to go Mal!

Memorial Day Weekend / Chad's Birthday

 We headed to Cypremort Port  on Saturday for some fun in the sun with "The Fam"   We had a great time. The kids loved playing on the waterslide and in the plastic pools.  Jade had his boat and wave runner there so we played with those too!  Fishing on the peir, cocktails and laughing till my stomach hurt!  Happy Birthday to Chad.  He turned 37 on Sunday.  He had a great birthday! We had a great weekend!   Thanks Melanie and Vince for having a great party at your camp!  We can't wait to come back!

Davis' New Wheels

We had a great weekend with the fam!  We headed to Lafayette on Friday and hung out at Stepanie and Jade's house since KK is having her den and kitchen repainted.  Davis had fun and was super excited when Nannie, Jade, and Mal gave him his gift.  His first power wheels bike.  I had told Stephanie to get him the cozy Coupe car.  You konw the red car with yellow top that every child has right?  Well, she thought this would be much better!  I'm glad she got it for him!  He LOVES it.  Jade helped him ride around in the front yard and tried to teach him how to press the button to make it go!  Too cute!   I know Davis will enjoy riding it around this summer!  Thanks again!

Happy Birthday Davis!

Davis celebrated his first birthday today!  We had intentions of going to Toys R Us and Global Wildlife to see the animals but since Davis was sick we had a great day at home instead! Since Chad is working at home right now we all got to enjoy the day together!  Davis is feeling better and had no fever today so he was in a good mood.

 

Davis got lots of birthday wishes via text messages, cards, facebook and even had a few people sing to him!  He loved every minute of it!  He really had a fun time opening presents.  We let him open one present every few hours which made it fun for all of us!   


Davis even had 2 baths today! I guess I should have waited until after we gave him cake.  

I'm not a baker but did my best to make a cake for Davis.  He was excited at first but when he stuck his hand into the cake, he just got a glob of icing.  He wasn't sure what to do with it so guess where it went?  In his hair!  Nice.  Ha!  He didn't really want to eat it so we headed straight to the bathtub! 

It was great day for all of us!

This first year has been AMAZING!  I love you so much Davis!  You are my sunshine
