Talent Night and Games at the Beach

Each year for Easter we have Talent Night and games at the beach. It sarted about 5 years ago with "Portofino Idol"  where everyone had to dress up and sing a song.  KK loves to get prizes (and they are good) so we all have fun playing her silly games. This year was quite a treat!  KK sang Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, PopPop sang  Give Peace a Chance ~ John Lennon Mallory is really into the Beatles and hippy stuff these days so she sang ~ Watching the Wheel Spin Round and Round. Stephanie sang a great song by Unlce Kracker ~ Good to Be Me and Jade sang Toes in the Water by the  Zac Brown Band.  Chad sang ~ I Just Called to Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder and  I made up a song about us to the theme from Gilligan's Island.

 
 

 

Davis was going to dance to his new cow that sing "Achy Breaky Heart" but he went to sleep before we started.  He'll have to play next year!  Good times for sure!  I was the photographer so no pics of me.  Mallory won the prize but we all thought KK should have won!  Hilarious!!!!!

KK's newest game was "Running of the Ducks" which gave us all a good laugh!

Thank you, Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny came to the beach!  Davis found lots of goodies in his basket and all around the condo when he woke up on Easter Sunday morning.  Blocks, toys for the tub, new pajamas, eggs filled with little people toys, a dancing chicken, big boy bowl and plate set and more!  He was excited and not quite sure what to do! I think out of all of the things he got, he liked the pink egg the best!  Ha!
  The weather was perfect, sunny with a cool breeze.  We had lunch on the balcony, hung out in the pool and even took an evening cruise on the Gaspard's new boat! 

Davis loved his first boat ride!  It was a perfect day!

11 months

My sweet little boy is 11 months old today! We took a picture in the same condo at the Caribe in Orange Beach, AL where he turned 6 months.  We left the beach today but we had a fabulous time! (I'll post more about our trip later.) Davis is a lucky little boy~ it was his 4th trip to the beach.  He loved the water. He took a few spins around the lazy river and played in the pool.  He laughed and splashed, smiling the whole time!  He even kept his hat

Davis really enjoys the water.  He's eating lots of big boy food.  He likes to feed himself instead of eating baby food.  He's crawling all over the place.  He likes to stand and cruise on the furniture.  Davis is "talking" a lot.  He's such a happy boy!  He makes my heart smile each and every day!

Greetings from the Beach

Our annual family trip to Orange Beach started yesterday. We met everyone at the Caribe last night. I certainly enjoyed having my coffee this morning with this veiw.
 





Davis came home from school this week with some Easter crafts.  His first painting sessions!  Too cute!

First Easter Egg Hunt

Davis went to his frist Easter egg hunt today!  Our friends, The Barrois', The Parnell's and the Brister's hosted a great party Sunday afternoon.  It was nice to see our friends and watch all of the kiddos hunt for eggs.  Davis found an egg but wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  It was cute!

The Mills came over for dinner on Saturday night!  Davis and Baker enjoyed seeing each other and Miss Myrt was such a big girl. She helped entertain the boys. Chad made veal parmasean that was delicious. We enjoyed our evening with our friends and look forward to doing it again soon!

 

Weekend Away

 Chad went to his friend's deer camp in Monroeville, Alabama this weekend so Davis and I headed to Lafayette!  I took the day off from school on Friday and it was a nice treat.  Davis was a trooper and slept the entire way to Lafayette.  Our first stop was a surprise visit to PopPop's office.  Davis had a great time in the big swivel chair and playing with the phone.  Next, we headed to Cornerstone for a quick visit with Dot. 

                      

 Then we were off to Bon Bon's.  I met up with my cousins for lunch and my mom and aunts (aka: the grandmas were watching the kids and having lunch) 

Lunch at Nash's with my cousins was a blast.  We got there at 1:00 and left at 3:45.  It was so nice for all of us to visit.  We missed our out of town cousins (Katie, Kimberly and Angie)  And we had an extra sweet surprise.  Aunt Jamie had gone by the restaurant earlir and left $100 to put towards our bill with a sweet note for us that said "Girls, Hope you enjoyed lunch.  You should do this more often"   Thanks, We love you Mootzie!

Mallory took us for an evening cruise on the golf cart!  Davis loved every minute of it!  He got a new toy and is trying to walk.  I'm not sure if I'm ready for all of that yet!  Ha!

 Davis really enjoys eating his own food and likes to feed himself.  He enjoyed having a little bit of a waffle and banana for breakfast!

 KK, Davis and I went shopping and to lunch on Saturday.  Davis was a trooper again but crashed out on the way home.   He took a long nap and then hung out on the swing with Nannie Stephanie.  He was totally relaxed and didn't move. 
I'm still trying to learn how to take pictures with my new camera so I took some family pics while we were outside. 

My parents kept Davis on Satuday night and I enoyed a night out to dinner with my friends!  We had a great time at Charlie G's!  Can't believe we've been such close friends for almost 20 years...  are we reallly that old?
