Happy Thanksgiving and 6 months

We are enjoying a nice time at the Caribe in Orange Beach, Alabama.  Our condo is beautiful.  We have a corner unit with two huge windows overlooking Ono Island and the bay.  It's gorgeous.  KK made turkey, corn bread dressing and all of the other good fixings for Thanksgiving.  We enjoyed it all!We are all so thankful for our many blessings.

Yummy!  Maybe next year?

Stephanie and I went shopping for a little bit then came home and enjoyed playing dominoes with my  mom!  Funny but fun!

Davis is having a good time and being such a sweetie!  He turned 6 months old yesterday on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th.  Amazing.  I don't know where the time has gone!  He's growing so fast.  He is talking up a storm and now says something resembling "dada"  Chad is so excited!  Ha!  We're working on more mmmm "mama" sounds!  :)  He eats a lot and loves jumping and playing in his exersaucer.  He also like playing with his feet and staring at his fingers!  He's wiggling and moving alot and seems like he's ready to crawl. We can feel two bottom teeth making their way out.  I'm sure he'll be cutting them soon!  We are having so much fun watching our baby boy grow!!!

Checking In

Things are good on our end.  I made it through 3 weeks of teaching and now am off for a week for Thanksgiving break.  If was rough getting back.  I went back with no voice and coughing for a week.  Then the second week had the whole runny nose, sneezing, coughing thing.  I took 2 days off of school to get well and rest.  Davis stayed home with me too and that made me happy.  Sending Davis to daycare and going back to work was very hard for me.  I needed some time to get adjusted.  I am no longer sick and am feeling much better about the whole daycare thing.  Davis has adjusted too and he seems happy.  I am so thankful that Chad takes him in the mornings and sometimes picks him up early too!  It makes my day much smoother.    I did drop him off one time and was so proud of  myself because I didn't even cry!  I was somewhat of a nutcase the first week he was there. Ha!  I'm fine now.
Davis is growing so fast.  We took him to see Dr. Richard the other day to check on his skin and a runny nose and cough.   He had some dry, red patches which I knew had to be exczema and sure enough I was correct.  She gave him some presricption cream to use for 10 days and I've already seen a difference.  I just hate that I can't use Baby Magic lotion on him.  It smells so good and I want that new baby smell!  Davis is a chunky monkey and weighed in at 17.8 lbs. WOW... he was 14.15 on Oct. 5th.  But, he has been eating fruits, veggies and rice cereal daily.
I've been worried about Davis' head being flat. Back in September, she took xrays and all is fine.  But when we were there the other day, Dr. Richard commented several times about how flat his head was.  She suggested that maybe we should see a neurosurgeon to check on it. She says it's purely cosmetic. So we are going to see Dr. Bui, a pediatric nuereosuregeon in New Orleans on Dec.1st.  I think Davis may have to wear a helmet for a little while to correct the problem.  Not sure, we'll have to see what the doctor says.
We are waiting for our friends from NYC, The Bentley's, to arrive to spend a few nights with us and meet Davis.  We are looking forward to a good time!  Then we are heading to the Caribe in Orange Beach with KK, Papop, Stephanie, Jade and Mallory!  We are super excited!

We made it~

I survived my first week back at school and Davis made it through 3 days of daycare.  His frist day was Wednesday.  Chad dropped him off around 8:00.  I opted not to go because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it.  Chad sent me this pic and reported that he was "fine and happy when I left".   This is not the best pic of my happy little baby but it's all we have for his first day.

Davis' first day was a little rough and he cried most of the morning.  Not the news I wanted to hear when I picked him up.  Needless to say, the next day, Davis went to school with detailed directions on how I wanted his day to be at daycare.  They reported he had a great day!  Wether that was true or not, it sounded great to me!
My sweet happy baby reading to himself because Mommy had no voice!!!  Ha!
I had a few melt downs and cried a bit but my friends, Kate and Julie calmed me down and reassured me that all would be fine!  Their cute boys, Baker and Will are in Davis' class and they've been there for a while so they know the ropes. I'm looking forward to Davis hanging out with his new buddies!  I know it just takes some time to get used to this.  Losing my voice and coughing all week didn't help much but I am feeling better.  I'm just glad that the first week is over!!!!! 2 more weeks and then off for Thanksgiving!!!!! :)

Monday, Monday

Today was my first day back at work.  KK came to Mandeville to watch Davis today and tomorrow.  He will start daycare on Wednesday.  This was a big help to me.  It made for a much easier transition knowing that he was safe and happy at home with KK!!!

I had a good day at school with my students.  I have a great class and they were very sweet.  But if you can believe this... I spent the whole day trying to teach with no voice.  I woke up on Sunday morning with a crummy old sore throat and no voice.  I finished the day with a whisper and went to Urgent  Care.  No strep throat thank goodness but I have a nasty cough and no voice.  I got some medicine and will be going to bed early.

All I wanted was to see my baby boy and I was at Urgent care until 5:00  and now KK says I can't get to close to him or he will get sick.... ugghhh... Good night!  Let's hope tomorrow is a better day!
