Our First Family Christmas

Davis opening his first present
Chad, Davis and I celebrated our first family Christmas last night!  Since we are heading to Lafayette this afternoon after work ( yes I'm still teaching/babysitting on the 22nd day of Decemeber  :(  not happy )  we opened our gifts last night!  It was great!  Davis was a little overwhelmed at first but quickly got into it!  The tissue paper was by far his favorite part.  I am super excited because Chad gave the best present!  A fancy newdigital HD Nikon Camera with all the bells and whistles!  I love taking pics and can't wait to read all about it on our way to Lafayette so I can start using it!  I was so excited that I started screaming and it scared Davis.  He had this cute little pout and the started crying.  Poor darling!  Davis got a fisher price camera too!  So we can take pics together!  :)  We were so happy to watch Davis enjoy his first Christmas.  We are looking forward to the rest of the week and Christmas Day with the fam!

I picked Davis up from "school/daycare" yesterday and went to his school party. :)  They had punch and cookies for the parents!  All of his teachers and friends were there! I took some cute pics!  Davis and his buddy Baker looked so cute in their Christmas gear!
Ms. Susie, Ms. Bonnie, Ms. Joyce and Ms. Margaret with Davis and his friends at Kidz Karousel

So sweet!  Davis and Baker    buddies!

One other exciting this happened yesterday too!  Our good friends, Allison and Ryan Reaux had a baby boy!  Ryan Neal Reaux II was born at 11:30 and weighed the same as Davis did... 6 lbs. 12 oz.  We can't wait to meet him!  Davis has new fishing buddy to hang out with in Cocodrie!!!!

Pics with Santa

We took Davis to see Santa this weekend at the mall in Slidell. I've been reading lots of Christmas books with Santa and he's been playing with his Santa pillow from KK.  He even laughs all the time when we say "HO! HO! HO!'   Davis was happy and smiling the whole way there and even when we first put him on Santa's lap but when he looked up at Santa he burst into tears.  It was cute and funny!  We tried to make him smile... clapping, ringing bells, etc.  Nothing seemed to work until Chad decided to sit with him.  So we decided we'd take a family pic with Santa!

Davis had his picture taken in a Santa suit at school.  It was a surprise to me and it was so cute!  I had to buy my first "school picture package"  2 5x7 photos and 8 wallet size pics.  Really??? And that was the smallest and cheapest package!  I just needed one picture but we sent the rest to KK and PopPop and Grammy and Pop.  I'm sure they will love them.

Davis also said something that sounds like "mama"!  He said it on Friday night and then kept saying it Saturday morning.  Of course when I tried to record it, he stopped.  He may not really know what he is saying but it is music to my ears!  He's got "dada dada dada" down pat!  Now it's my turn!  Ha!!!
And tonight he had us laughing so hard because he was laughing so hard at me while I was dancing and singing to him.  I've never heard him laugh that hard.  It was so funny!  Davis is such a happy baby.  We love him so much!

Santa's Little Helper is on a Roll

We had a good weekend at home finishing up with Christmas decorations, addressing Christmas cards  ( yes, I finally decided on a picture), wrapping presents and lounging around.  Davis wanted to help while I was wrapping gifts so I gave him paper to play with.  He seemed to like it!  I hope he likes what Santa brings!!!!!
Davis was "on a roll" this morning!  He rolled from his back to his tummy!  It was so cute.  He would get stuck and keep working on it~  then he rolled all the way from the Christmas tree to the sofa.  It was so funny. He just kept rolling until he got to the couch. Then he was stuck.  Too cute!  He's on the move now!

First Phone Call from Daycare

I got my first "sick" call from daycare yesterday.   I think I jinxed myself because it was right as I was telling my friend Julie,( her son Will is in Davis' class) that the ladies told Chad that a 24 stomach bug was going around in the 1 year old class.  Sure enough, the phone rang at work and it Kidz Karousel calling for me.  This is what I heard:  "Hi!  We have Davis in the office with 101 fever and a rash on his face."  I was very calm but must admit I wasn't sure what to do.  I told her someone would be there soon.  Luckily Chad was able to go get him so I didn't have to get a sub, etc.  Turns out Davis is perfectly fine.  The fever was from his flu shot the day before. The "rash" was is ezcema that had flared up on his neck.  Poor baby!  He spent the rest of the afternoon at home with daddy and had a good day!

I even took more pics of him for our Christmas card!  I finally ordered one!  Yeah for Walgreens getting the red eye out!!!!!  It's cute, not the best, but I've got to these cards in the mail!

Davis has to be "fever free" for 24 hours so he can't go back to daycare today.  Chad's going to take care of him and work from home today! I left him a list of things to do like wash clothes, unload the dishwasher, finishing putting the net lights on the bushes outside, etc.  I'm sure he'll be thrilled!!!!!  HA!!!

Will We Ever Get a Picture for our Christmas Card?

We've been trying to take pics for a Christmas card. I thought this would be so easy.  Dress Davis in his cute monogrammed Christmas outfit, prop him up in the chair, click and voila ... picture perfect for our Christmas card.... YEAH RIGHT?   I swear I have taken over 200 pictures of my little man and can't get ONE pic to put on a card.  Of course, I think they are all adorable but just not the perfect one for a card.  I did find a few but his eyes are red and I can't get it out :(  so we will try one more time tomorrow night and see what happens.

Oh, apparently they took Christmas pics of Davis at "school"/daycare.  His picture was in the Decemeber newsletter.  It's THE CUTEST pic...he's dressed in a Santa suit and all, sitting up, smiling... How do they do it?  Maybe I should use that one!  HA!!!

In the mean time, here are some precious pics of Davis!  Christmas will be lots of fun with him this year!

This is my favorite but can't get the red eyes out

No pants...really?

He kept looking at Chad... it was so cute!!!

Check up

Davis had his 6 month well check today with Dr. Richard!  He's on the right track and growing way to fast for me.  Davis weighs 17.lbs.  and is 27 1/2 inches long.  She said he's doing great and is in the average range for his height, weight, etc.  Poor baby has eczema so his skin has some  dry rough patches.  it doesn't bother him but I sure wish he didn't have it.  Lots of vaseline and aquaphor!!!!  His ears have been a little pink so she decided to put him on amoxicillin for a few days to clear it up since he's had it and the whole runny nose, coughing bit for the last He got his first flu shot today!
He was a good sport and only cried for a moment then started to laugh.  Davis was pooped and crashed on the way home!  I couldn't resist this picture!

Weekend Visitors

Grammy and Pop came to spend the night with us on Friday.  We had a nice visit with them. They were so excited to see Davis and amazed at how much he's grown since they've last seen him ( 6 weeks ago).  They gave Davis a music box that looks like a present.  Davis loves it and just stares at it while it plays a Christmas carol.

Then the Folses came to visit and spend the night on Saturday night.  Chad and Trent went deer hunting Saturday afternoon/evening while Jenny and I went shopping with Davis and Finn.  We got some Christmas shopping done and had lots of fun.  The boys were so good too!!!!
We came home and cooked dinner to celebrate Trent's 33rd Birthday!  We had lots of fun taking pics and videos of the boys together.  They are so cute to watch now that they recognize each other.   They even "fought" over the same toy on the mat!  Too cute!  Today is Finn's 6th month bday so we dressed them in their crawfish outfit and took pics.  So funny trying to get them to both look at the same time.

Trying to get the same toy... first toy fight  HA!!!!

Thank goodness for entertainment!!!

Happy # 33, Trent!

All Good

We took Davis to New Orleans today to see Dr. Bui, pedeatric neurosurgeon.  It was a good appointment.  He said Davis does a mild/moderate case of  plagiocephaly, a fancy word for "flat head syndrome". He doesn't think that a helmet is necessary and thinks that with more tummy time and moving around, as well as sleeping on his side, that Davis' head will round out.  Of course, if Davis would get some more hair that would be a big help too!  Ha!! Ha!!!  Needless to say, we were happy with the news that we don't have to get Davis a helmet!  He's still the cutest thing... flat head and all!!! :)
I'm trying to decorate the house for Christmas and have boxes everywhere!  Grammy and Pop are coming in on Friday and Jenny, Trent and Finn will be here on Saturday.  I'm trying to finish before they get here!  So far, I've got the top done and lights on the tree and our cute new stockings hung!!!! Hope it comes together soon!  I love this time of year!

Stephanie and I went shopping for a little bit then came home and enjoyed playing dominoes with my  mom!  Funny but fun!

Davis is having a good time and being such a sweetie!  He turned 6 months old yesterday on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th.  Amazing.  I don't know where the time has gone!  He's growing so fast.  He is talking up a storm and now says something resembling "dada"  Chad is so excited!  Ha!  We're working on more mmmm "mama" sounds!  :)  He eats a lot and loves jumping and playing in his exersaucer.  He also like playing with his feet and staring at his fingers!  He's wiggling and moving alot and seems like he's ready to crawl. We can feel two bottom teeth making their way out.  I'm sure he'll be cutting them soon!  We are having so much fun watching our baby boy grow!!!
