A Night out in NOLA

This weekend was a treat for everyone.  Chad and I had a masquerade wedding shower/party in New Orleans on Saturday night.  We had plans for KK and PopPop to come to Mandeville to watch Davis.  We had a great surprise when KK and PopPop and Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Jade and Mallory decided to go to NOLA on Friday night.   So we packed up our things Saturday morning and headed to New Orleans.  Chad and I were so excited!  We felt like we were going on vacation!  Ha!  A night out on the town was a much needed treat for us.

We met the gang at The Court of Two Sisters for brunch.  It was my first time there and we all really enjoyed it!  Davis did too!  It was his first time to sit in a high chair at a restaurant!  He seemed to like it especially the silverware on the table.

"Hey, why did you take my spoons away?

After brunch  KK and PopPop headed back to our house and had a great time with Davis.  They said he was great!  Good thing, we already have thme booked to babysit again in March when we go back to NOLA for Misty and Sean's wedding! :)
Chad and I had a great time walking around the quarter enjoying a few cocktails and people watching!  Needless to say, we saw some FC's  ~ fine citizens cruising down Bourbon Street!  We met up with the Reauxs and some other friends for a fabulous meal at GW Fins before heading out to the party.  We had another surprise treat when a limo pulled up to pick us up!  It was lots of fun!  The Elters, Reauxs, Glovers and Bocks had a great time.  We hadn't all been out in a long time and really had a ball.  We were quite a crew and looked great with our masks on!  At least we thought we did!

8 months old

Another picture?  Really mom?
Where does the time go?  Davis is 8 months old today!  I cannot believe it.  He is growing up way to quickly.  He is still such a fun, happy baby.  He is sitting up and enjoys playing with his toys.  His favorite toys right now are his firetruck with stacking shapes and his piano.

He has two bottom teeth and I think the top ones won't be too far behind.  Davis likes to move around on his tummy and "swim" on the floor.  He's really pushing up on his upperbody.  I'm sure he'll be on the move soon!

I couldn't resisit this photo!  It's so funny.  He wouldn't smile while I was taking pics and then I got this one.  Too funny.   Davis' hair looks a little red in his pics but he is a full blonde in person.  We shall see!

My two bottom teeth

I had an evening out with some girlfriends from work and Chad had to work late so.... Davis had his first babysitter... Miss Jennifer ( my friend Julie's daughter)  They had a great time ( and so did I). We can't wait to have Jen back to babysit.

Slumber Party

Davis and I had a slumber party on Saturday night.  Chad was deer hunting in Alabama so we thought it would be a great time to have some friends over.  It was a very special and fun night!  My friends from high school came with their babies.  It was so much fun! The babies were good too!  We had a ball just talking and laughing and catching up about life!  I am so blessed to have such wonderful lifelong friends. I love my girls!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year ~~~ 2011
Davis doesn't like to keep his shoes on.  KK tried and tried to put them on but he kept taking them off.  He thought it was so funny!  Maybe he'll learn to keep them on in the new year!

New Year's Eve

The days after Christmas were just as busy.  Since we had Chad and Jade with time off and a few trucks, we headed to Abbeville to Dot's house to get some furniture.  It was bittersweet for all as we hauled all of Dot's furniture and loaded it up at a storage place by KK's house.  Stephanie brought some pieces to her house and I have some in storage (waiting for trip back to pick it up)  We did manage to pack Chad's truck up as much as we could and brought home a chair and some dishes.  It was fun to reminisce about things and look at old pictures of Dot and Pop, mom and Uncle Glenn.  KK was happy to see that Stephanie and I were happy and putting Dot's things to use in our homes. :)

I've always loved this chair.... the ugly fabric and all

Ha!!! Me, my cousin Keith, and my sister  1985ish???

We had plans to go back to Lafayette for New Year's Eve but we really needed some time to chill and undecorate and rearrange for our new furniture that will eventually get here!  So, we decided to stay in Mandeville and ring in the new year quietly.  I cleaned and rearranged, Chad watched football and tried to learn how to play his guitar while Davis enjoyed playing with is new toys!

Chad got a new ravioli pasta cutter for Christmas so we decided to try it out.  We had fresh, homemade ravioli stuffed with elk, spinach, garlic, and feta cheese with a creamy red sauce.  It was fabulous!  We can't wait to make it again!

Christmas Day

Ho! Ho! Ho!  Christmas Day was a fabulous day!  We woke up to see what Santa had left for Davis at KK's house.  He was excited and happy to see what he got!  Fun toys and little red wagon!  So cute!

Davis also turned 7 months old on Christmas Day.  Don't know where the time has gone, he's growing so fast and we are loving every minute of it.  We attempted to take his picture while he held the sign and it was quite a task resulting in some funny pics.  So here's our best shot!  Davis is 7 moths old.  He weighs a little over 18 pounds and has 2 bottom teeth.  He is sitting up on his own.

The whole Hebert clan ~~~ aka "The Fam" came to my parents house for a great day.  Everyone came over around 12:30 and stayed until about 10:00 pm.  It was quite a party.  The kids enjoyed opening their gifts from the cousins that pulled their name.  Aubrey picked Davis and gave him his first baseball bat and ball toy.  Davis pulled Parker and gave him some shorts and a gift card to Academy.  We took lots of pics, ate lots of food, had some good drinks and enjoyed the day!  It was really cold and dreary but the rain held off which was nice.  Lots of good memories for our first Christmas with Davis.
