This blog is for our family, friends, and my son Davis. I hope you enjoy watching our precious angel grow!

The Surprise Suit
KK and PopPop came to Mandeville on Friday. We had a nice dinner at Cafe Lynne! On Saturday, Chad and I headed to New Orleans for Misty and Sean's wedding. We enjoyed lunch at Lilette on Magazine St. and had lots of fun at the wedding and meeting up with friends.
KK, PopPop and Davis had lots of fun too! They took a drive to Folsom and looked at the pretty flowers, had lunch on the lakefront and even made a stop at Aquistipace's. Funny that KK put Davis in the grocery cart (it was his first time in one) and of course they were at the wine store! Ha! Ha!
When Chad and I got back home on Sunday this is what we found waiting for us in the big chair!
It was a surprise from KK and PopPop. So cute! A seersucker suit. Really? Just like his daddy and PopPop. My little man!!! Too Cute!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
With Mardi Gras behind us, it's already St. Patrick's Day. I don't need a four leaf clover to know that I am a lucky gal! After enjoying a week off for Mardi Gras break this spring forward time change has thrown me for a loop! It was hard adjusting to the new time change but I must admit, I do love the cool, long evenings! If only I could catch up on laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc to actually sit down long enough to enjoy one! Ha! I will soon!
Last weekend was the end to a great break for me. Saturday was a fun filled day with friends. Chad and I took Davis to his buddy Will Estep's 1st birthday party! (His mom, Julie and I are friends! We work together) Davis had fun playing with Will's toys and even enjoyed a taste of icing from his cake! ;)

After the part,y the Folses came in town to spend the night with us! As usual we had a great time! Of course the night was planned around food. On the menu.... chargrilled oysters shucked by Chad and Trent, 2 kinds of homemade ravioli ~ one stuffed with elk, spinach, blue cheese and garlic and the other stuffed with baby portabella mushrooms, garlic and fresh parsley topped with red cream sauce. It was yummy and we all enjoyed our evening. Davis and Finn had fun playing in the kitchen too. They had cookbooks and tupperware. They even took a ride together in Mallory's old wagon ( The Chariot of Fire.)
Miss Mallory celebrated her 14th birthday on Saturday! We missed being with her but she was had a great time in Houston with her parents and KK and PopPop. She found a great dress for her upcoming dance at school and she got her ears peirced! WooHoo! You go girl!
Davis has been on the move! He is crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. We find ourselves saying "No, Davis!" quite a bit these days. Which is funny because right after Davis was born, Mallory bought him a book. The book is called No David but sweet Mal changed every page to Davis. I got it out the day and this is what happend... I promise there was no prompting. I was folding clothes while he was "reading" his book! Too cute.

Mardi Gras
I have thoroughly enjoyed my week long Mardi Gras break. We started our vacation last Friday afternoon and headed to Lafayette. KK and PopPop babysat while Chad and I went to a surprise birthday party for our friend, Jeremy. We had a fun time and got to hang out with the usual suspects that we go to Cocodrie with. Fun times!
On Saturday we had a great day visiting with friends and family. Our first stop was at the Pecorraro's for some mimosas, coffee and breakfast. We got to see Elena, Ryan and Isabella (3), Peggy, Charlie (2) and Kellen (1) Giglio, and Amy Lee (6 months preggo) We missed Jessica and her boys but it was great to see everyone and get the kids together too!
Next stop was lunch at Zea with Trent, Jenny and Folse. It was Davis and Finn's first lunch outing at a restaurant together! Lots of fun and the boys did great... just a few toys and lots of puff snacks on the floor! Ha!
Sunday was another fun day! KK took Davis and I to Babies R Us. We got some new spring/summer clothes for Davis and then we went to the toy side of the store! Davis loved it! I think we were there for an hour!
We did spend time with KK and PopPop and enjoyed a few quiet evenings at home. Davis even started crawling!!! We missed the Gaspards though. They were in Orange Beach. Chad and I really enjoyed our time in Lafayette and were both totally relaxed. We were supposed to come home on Monday but stayed until Wednesday morning!
Monday we had a nice visit with Paige and Siri Vlcek. They were in town from Austin. Jenny and Finn came to play too! Then we headed to lunch at LaFonda with KK and PopPop. I hadn't been there in years and it was great! Those margaritas are still the best in town!
Tuesday was Mardi Gras Day. We wanted to go to the parades but it was rainy and yuck. "The Fam" went to Aunt Patti's to play games! We had a great time! Everyone was there and it was nice to see all of my cousins and the kiddos.

I'd say that Davis' first Mardi Gras was quite a success and lots of fun! We sure did enjoy it!

9 month stats
Davis had his 9 month well check last week. He sure is growing fast. Dr. Richard said he's on the right track. He had a good appointment except for the news of a new ear infection. We had no clue since Davis alway pulls at his ears and scratches them. Our clue should have been when he wasn't eating much and only taking 3oz or so of his bottle. So, he's back on "the bubblegum" medicine (amoxicillin) until Friday. Hopefully its gone and he is all better! He sure seems like it!
Here are the stats:
Weight: 19lbs 15 ounces
Height : 28 inches
50th percentile in all areas
Teeth: 4 bottom 2 top (with 2 more top ones about to break the skin)
Davis learned to sit up from a laying position this week. He gets on all fours the sits back. It's so cute. Funny story: We've been at KK and PopPop's for the past 5 days for Mardi Gras. I'll post more on that later. But, the first night there, I put Davis to sleep in the pack n play. He didn't make a fuss so I thought he was sleeping. When I looked at the monitor he was sitting up in the corner nunnie in his mouth. It was hilarious.
And the big news for Davis at 9 months is..... he started crawling on Monday. It was exciting and fun to see. He started by going forward about 2 crawls and then sitting up. But when we got home today, Davis took off. He is everywhere now. Our lives will certainly be different now. We are picking things up and following him everywhere. Cute, fun and exhausting all at the same time!
