Mardi Gras

I have thoroughly enjoyed my week long Mardi Gras break.  We started our vacation last Friday afternoon and headed to Lafayette.  KK and PopPop babysat while Chad and I went to a surprise birthday party for our friend, Jeremy.  We had a fun time and got to hang out with the usual suspects that we go to Cocodrie with.  Fun times!

On Saturday we had a great day visiting with friends and family.  Our first stop was at the Pecorraro's for some mimosas, coffee and breakfast.  We got to see Elena, Ryan and Isabella (3), Peggy, Charlie (2) and Kellen (1) Giglio, and Amy Lee (6 months preggo)  We missed Jessica and her boys but it was great to see everyone and get the kids together too!

Next stop was lunch at Zea with Trent, Jenny and Folse.  It was Davis and Finn's first lunch outing at a restaurant together!  Lots of fun and the boys did great... just a few toys and lots of puff snacks on the floor!  Ha!

Sunday was another fun day!  KK took Davis and I to Babies R Us.  We got some new spring/summer clothes for Davis and then we went to the toy side of the store!  Davis loved it!  I think we were there for an hour!

We did spend time with KK and PopPop and enjoyed a few quiet evenings at home. Davis even started crawling!!! We missed the Gaspards though.  They were in Orange Beach.  Chad and I really enjoyed our time in Lafayette and were both totally relaxed.  We were supposed to come home on Monday but stayed until Wednesday morning!
Monday we had a nice visit with Paige and Siri Vlcek.  They were in town from Austin.  Jenny and Finn came to play too!  Then we headed to lunch at LaFonda with KK and PopPop.  I hadn't been there in years and it was great!  Those margaritas are still the best in town!

Tuesday was Mardi Gras Day.  We wanted to go to the parades but it was rainy and yuck.  "The Fam" went to Aunt Patti's to play games!  We had a great time!  Everyone was there and it was nice to see all of my cousins and the kiddos.

I'd say that Davis' first Mardi Gras was quite a success and lots of fun!  We sure did enjoy it!
