Memorial Day Weekend / Chad's Birthday

 We headed to Cypremort Port  on Saturday for some fun in the sun with "The Fam"   We had a great time. The kids loved playing on the waterslide and in the plastic pools.  Jade had his boat and wave runner there so we played with those too!  Fishing on the peir, cocktails and laughing till my stomach hurt!  Happy Birthday to Chad.  He turned 37 on Sunday.  He had a great birthday! We had a great weekend!   Thanks Melanie and Vince for having a great party at your camp!  We can't wait to come back!

Davis' New Wheels

We had a great weekend with the fam!  We headed to Lafayette on Friday and hung out at Stepanie and Jade's house since KK is having her den and kitchen repainted.  Davis had fun and was super excited when Nannie, Jade, and Mal gave him his gift.  His first power wheels bike.  I had told Stephanie to get him the cozy Coupe car.  You konw the red car with yellow top that every child has right?  Well, she thought this would be much better!  I'm glad she got it for him!  He LOVES it.  Jade helped him ride around in the front yard and tried to teach him how to press the button to make it go!  Too cute!   I know Davis will enjoy riding it around this summer!  Thanks again!

Happy Birthday Davis!

Davis celebrated his first birthday today!  We had intentions of going to Toys R Us and Global Wildlife to see the animals but since Davis was sick we had a great day at home instead! Since Chad is working at home right now we all got to enjoy the day together!  Davis is feeling better and had no fever today so he was in a good mood.

 

Davis got lots of birthday wishes via text messages, cards, facebook and even had a few people sing to him!  He loved every minute of it!  He really had a fun time opening presents.  We let him open one present every few hours which made it fun for all of us!   


Davis even had 2 baths today! I guess I should have waited until after we gave him cake.  

I'm not a baker but did my best to make a cake for Davis.  He was excited at first but when he stuck his hand into the cake, he just got a glob of icing.  He wasn't sure what to do with it so guess where it went?  In his hair!  Nice.  Ha!  He didn't really want to eat it so we headed straight to the bathtub! 

It was great day for all of us!

This first year has been AMAZING!  I love you so much Davis!  You are my sunshine

Sick Baby

I'm a little sad tonight.  One becuase my baby is going to be one tomorrow.  I cannot believe it!  But, he just keeps getting better! 

The other reason that I am sad is because my poor baby is sick.  I mean really, on his first birthday.  Good thing we had planned a low key/fun day with just me, Chad, and Davis.   Davis and Finn are having a 1st birthday party together next week in Lafayette. 

 

Davis came home from school yesterday not feeling well.  He had fever ~ 102.  He did sleep most of the night but just wasn't himself.  I'm so glad I'm finished with school so I was able to stay home with him and take him to the doctor.  I thought it was hit teeth at first, then maybe an ear infection since he wasn't taking his bottle.  His fever did finally break this afternoon but it wasn't any of that.  Poor baby has a red/sore throat with 2 ulcers on it.  No wonder why he was fussy and not eating.  I HATE SORE THROATS... and I'm such a baby when I have one that I can only imagine how painful it is for him.  It just breaks my heart that we can't do anything about it.  The doctor said it was viral and we can just give him motrin/tylenol every 4 hours.  We even tried popcicles but he wasn't interested.   He just hung on to me and sat with me in the rocker.  It was kind of nice to just hold him all day ;)   He had his moments of fun though and he played a bit today.  ( guess the Motrin kicked in)  I was able to catch a few shots of him.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!  We will certainly make is special for him!

Davis should be ready for his big birthday tomorrow!  He had a bit of practice opening gifts this weekend.  He sure had a fun time and got some neat things!  Thanks to Miss Myrt and Baker for the cute, soft block and ball set and the new plate set.    Thanks to Adam, Paula and Cliff for the cool steering wheel toy too!

School's Out for Summer!

Friday was my last day of school!  Woo Hoo!  I finished my 13th year of teaching 2nd grade.  I really cannot believe it.  I don't really feel old but I guess I'm getting old.  Can't believe it's been that long.  I had a good year.   I'm sure the first day of school will be here before I know it but until then I will enjoy the summer! 

Davis will stick to his routine and go to school on MWF (we have to hold his spot).  But Tuesdays and Thursdays will be fun!  We plan to go to the park, the zoo, play outside, and visit with friends.  Davis does enjoy school though!  This brought a big smile to my face when I picked him up.  They cruise up and down the hallways!

My Little Toodlebug

 I'm starting to get really sad that in one week my little toodlebug will be a year old.  Seriously where does the time go?  Davis is an angel and such a happy baby/big boy.  We are having so much fun with Davis.  He's into everything these days.  He loves to take a bath and has the best time playing in the tub but cries when you take him out. 

He is the biggest wiggle worm when we try to dress him or change his diaper.  It's sometimes a two person operation.  Davis is a great sleeper ~ 7:15 - 6:30!!!!  Davis loves to feed himself and eat table food.  When I do feed him something, he is now into taking the spoon and trying to feed himself.  Funny but messy. 

Davis really seems to enjoy school/daycare.  He's been painting and enjoys being read to. They say he eats like a champ and asks for more using sign language.  He plays with his friends but is always so excited to see me or Chad when we pick him up! 

He is a cruiser.... crawling at mock speed and walking around all of the furniture. He's learning to walk behind his Buzz Lightyear ride on toy. 

 Davis loves to play in the kitchen.  He especially likes to open the tupperware cabinet and take everything out.  (Cleaning the house will have to be done when he moves out  ha! ha! ha!!!)                            

 Davis loves rides in the wagon, shopping cart and his stroller. He's a social butterfly, making sweet eyes at everyone he sees.  Hilarious!
 My little toodlebug makes my heart smile every second of everyday!

Celebrating

Last week, on Friday the 13th (Chad's lucky day), he started a new job with LPL Financial (Peak Wealth Mangagment).  He is so excited and happy to be on his own now with this firm.  He's busy but that's good!  Congrats to you Chad!  We are so proud of you and wish you much luck and success. 

We had already planned an adult weekend get away with the Folses so it was a perfect time to celebrate!  Davis enjoyed the weekend with KK and PopPop while Chad and I went to New Orleans for an adult weekend with Jenny and Trent.  Two nights!  It was the best weather and we had a great time.  We celebrated and toasted to a year with our boys and another baby Folse on the way in December!  We enjoyed dinner with Chris and Amanda and Ericka and Joel at Coquette!  Great place.  Saturday we all just cruised around enjoying the beautiful weather.  Then headed to dinner at our new favorite place Cafe Giovanni.  Fabulous in all ways, atmosphere, food and they even sang opera!  Fun time!  We topped it off with cocktails in the courtyard at the Ritz Carlton!
